What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work; others, such as analytics or advertising cookies, can only be used with your consent.

Which cookies this site uses

At the moment, readers receive only one cookie: the one that stores the choice made in the cookie notice. The site does not load fonts, charts or any other content from third parties: everything is served by the site itself. The table also lists the cookies that will only be used if analytics or advertising are turned on, and only for people who accept them.

How you give and withdraw consent

On your first visit, the cookie notice lets you accept all, reject all or choose by category, with equal prominence for each option. Rejecting does not stop you using the site. Your choice is kept for six months, and you can change it at any time under “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page.

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, the site treats it as a refusal of analytics and advertising.

Google and Consent Mode

If Google Analytics or Google AdSense are turned on, the site uses Google Consent Mode: before any choice, all storage signals are denied, and Google’s tags are only loaded after you accept the relevant category. For advertising in the European Economic Area, Google may show its own consent message.

You can view and delete cookies in your browser settings. If you delete the consent cookie, the notice appears again on your next visit.
